MFW: Bottega Veneta Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011

Bottega Veneta Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 collection unveiled during Milan Fashion Week was very unusual and combined femininity and modernity. Jumpsuits are super trendy this season and Tomas Maier used this idea extensively. His leather jumpsuits that opened the collection looked superb – chic and so extravagant. Then followed other examples of the garment, but they were not as notable and featured shapelessness and greyness.

MFW: Missoni Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011

The collection Angela presented during Milan Fashion Week for Autumn/ Winter 2010/ 2011 was all about knitwear, family heritage. It was grandiose and super-warm, perfect for winter cold. is one of those brands that really make clothes suitable for cold weather.

The show had some kind of universal tribal spirit. It included items inspired by Celtic, Masai, punks’ cultures. Pieces looked beautiful and comfortable. Blanket coats looked funny though.

Lots of simple knitwear skirts with quite ordinary prints looked good in combination with elaborate flower-patterned scarves and long voluminous capes. Warm shorts were matched to woolen tights but at the same time bellies would left exposed.

I like the trousers in herring-bone pattern with side pockets that even had creases like on classic pants. However, lingerie that was used widely in the collection as outwear wasn’t the best idea. Actually it was good only for catwalk and there would hardly be anyone willing to wear all these pieces together.

MFW: Dolce & Gabbana Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011

Dolce & Gabbana presented their 50th collection as a duo in Milan on Saturday (27.02.10). The Italian designers have been working together for 25 years and achieved great success and world recognition. And rhey really do deserve this success!

To celebrate the brand’s heritage the designers sent more than 70 models down the runway wearing sumptuous clothing and beautiful accessories. Black was the dominant color in the collection with addition of grey, beige, yellow and red. Leopard prints and polka dots were also important.
The extensive range included chic classic pieces like skirt suits, skirts, blouses, jackets and coctail . Some items were more light-hearted and featured flower patterns and bold combinations of textures. To add femininity and sex appeal the creative duo used lace and sheer fabrics.

MFW: Versace Fall 2010

collection for Fall 2010 unveiled during looks nice and elegant as everything from . It inludes lots of signature short-and-tight dresses as well as long gowns with high splits. But it does have lots of innovative pieces that add glamour to the line.

obviously took a new route and abandoned the pastel-colored goddess drapery that she used in her Spring 2010 range. Maybe it’s due to the modern tendency to minimalism, pragmatic daywear, and longer lengths, that the designer changed her habitual way of creating things.

There is more about tailoring this time. Combining various fabrics and diverse colors Donatella was able to make beautiful and sophisticated ensembles. Separate geometric pieces of material were zippered together, half-short, half-long skirt were put into same sets and in the result we have pretty garments that are perfect for young people to wear.

MFW: Versace Spring/Summer 2010

Although usually the designer works to make pieces good for grown-ups, this time she decided to create for those who look younger, that has been a trend with designers for some time. It’s just that Donatella shows her own opinion of how young people should look like. These are not only too short skirts and sheer materials which are often visible in other designers’ collections but something else, more significant.

was able to make pieces interesting for modern youngsters – stylish, innovative but still very classy and feminine. Vivid pastels, geometric prints, baroque curlicues, super-short skirts, diverse materials and elaborate combinations of fabrics make the colelction look fresh and sumptuous.
